“Dominick” is a Brooklyn-born Italian who spent his twenties as a kept boy. In the wake of his Sugar Daddy’s alcohol-related death, he was left a modest fortune that fueled his own addiction. He started escorting in recovery to reclaim sex work on his own terms, retiring after three years to take a management position in commercial real estate. Dominick now writes for blog.rentboy.com, offering escorts and clients alike advice drawn from his experience. He’s a frequent presence at Red Umbrella Diaries, and has appeared in Dan Savage’s podcast and “Savage Love” column. He’ll appear in the upcoming anthology Johns, Marks, Tricks & Chickenhawks, published by Soft Skull Press.

Veronica Vera chronicled her own sex life and that of New York as a journalist throughout the 1980’s, the decade in which she was a porn star, erotic mode and activist. At the start of the 90’s, she began work on a memoir about what she had learned. At the same time, she began to help men in their own processes of female liberation and instead of just a sideline this work, made transgender history when she founded the world’s first crossdressing academy, Miss Vera’s Finishing School for Boys who Want to Be Girls and authored two books about her school. Now it is time to finish that original memoir and treat others to a time that will and should never be forgotten, a time when sex was fun and sex was wet, and porn was filled with artists and idealists. Veronica thanks Red Umbrella Project for help in this project. In June 2012, Veronica Vera married Stuart Ira Cottingham. They live happily in NYC. www.missvera.com
